My name is Jason Carroll, and every piece you see here is forged one at a time in my shop in Southern Indiana.
Blacksmithing is more than a way to make things—it's a craft that has been passed down through generations. Every time I step up to the anvil, I'm reminded that there is always something new to learn, another technique to refine, and another opportunity to improve. That pursuit of craftsmanship is what keeps me coming back to the forge.
Why I Forge
Honest work, shaped by hand.
There's something deeply satisfying about taking a simple piece of steel, heating it in the fire, and shaping it into something that can be used and appreciated for years to come.
In a world filled with mass-produced products, handcrafted ironwork offers something different. Every hammer blow, every curve, and every finish tells the story of the person who made it. No two pieces are exactly alike, and that's exactly how I believe it should be.
My goal is simple: to create honest, handcrafted work that is built to last.
My Maker's Mark
My signature and my promise.
Every completed piece carries my JC maker's mark whenever the size and design of the piece allow.
For me, that mark is much more than a logo.
It is my signature.
It is my promise that I was proud enough of the work to permanently place my name on it.
If I wouldn't proudly stamp it, I won't sell it.
Some pieces—especially smaller items—simply don't have enough room to safely accommodate my maker's mark without affecting the design or integrity of the work. When that happens, please know that the absence of my mark does not reflect the quality of the piece. If there were room for my mark, it would be there.
Whether a piece bears my maker's mark or not, every item is held to the same standards of craftsmanship, attention to detail, and quality before it leaves my shop.
When you purchase a piece from JC Fire and Iron, you're not just buying forged steel—you're buying something that I personally built, inspected, and was proud enough to put my name behind.
When you see my maker's mark, I hope you see more than a logo. I hope you see the pride, time, and craftsmanship that went into creating something built to last.
Forged for Generations
The standard I hold myself to.
Forged for Generations isn't just a slogan—it's the standard I hold myself to.
I want every piece that leaves my shop to be something I would proudly use in my own home or give to my own family. My hope is that the work I create today will still be serving its purpose many years from now and perhaps even be passed down to the next generation.
Every piece begins as a simple piece of steel. What it becomes depends on the time, care, and craftsmanship invested in it. I believe the same is true of any worthwhile endeavor.
Thank you for taking the time to visit JC Fire and Iron LLC. Whether you're looking for a handcrafted piece, searching for a custom commission, or simply sharing an appreciation for traditional craftsmanship, I'm grateful you've taken the time to be part of this journey.
